CheatCode #31: Go and read this essay if you want to increase your odds of success.

Something to make you think:

Stop trying to convince people who are scared of believing in themselves to be more ambitious.

Go alone.

Those who really want it will catch up.

Something to make you act:

This week's action point is actually very simple.

Read this essay.

This essay is written by Oliver Samwer, one of the founders of Rocket Internet.

Rocket Internet are known as the clone factory.

They built an Ebay clone and sold it back to Ebay for $43 million in 90 days.

They built a Groupon Clone and sold it to $1bn in 3 years.

Hate them or love them, they know how to build businesses.

The above essay is what Oli Samwer wrote in business school explaining why startups are successful.

They used the same playbook from here to build their successful companies so you could say...it works.

Read it. Apply it. Make some money.

That's all for this week. Really short one because I want you to take action.

P.S. I'm hiring for several full time positions right now & if you're spending time reading this newsletter, you're probably the type of person I'd like to speak to.

I'm hiring for:

  • A social media manager (Has to be based in London)
  • A copywriter ( Can be from anywhere)

If you think you're a great fit for one of these roles, reply to this email with the job title you want in the subject line, and 3 of your biggest achievements.

Try to make these achievements relevant to the role, but if you have something unrelated, yet truly exceptional - please do include it!

Timo.

Reader, This week has been a reminder: we don’t have forever. And because of that I really want to encourage you to go for it. Whatever 'it' looks like for you whether it's making your first hire, quitting that job, going on that date...taking that holiday. Just do it. Something to make you think: I’ve actually been thinking about Steve Jobs lately. Do you remember his final note before he died? “At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realise that all the...

Morning, Hope you’ve had an amazing week, smashing goals and setting the bar higher. So… my product launch is finally behind us, and I’ve been doing some reflecting (as always 😅). Some things went really well, and others… well, let’s just say they went hilariously sideways. Like, the kind of wrong you have to laugh at or you’ll cry. But hey, that’s also the game, right? In the spirit of celebrating both the wins and the “what-was-that-even?” moments, I’ve got something special for you this...

P.S. If you’re actively running a business, I've got something special for you at the bottom. Keep reading. Something to make you think: "You don't need to sound smart. You don't need to look cool. You just need to take action. When people get stuck and desperately want to get out, they wonder what to do. They spend so much time wondering what to do that they become even more stuck. Yet, the answer is right there in front of them. Action. It's always action." Something to make you act. One of...
